New Orleans Film Festival History

In addition to the annual New Orleans Film Festival each fall, we host special events year-round like Academy Awards Night, the French Film Festival each summer, and special events designed to benefit local film and video audiences, artists and professionals. We host an average of two special screenings a month- one curated public screening and one free preview. NOFF has a growing membership of 500 and reaches an additional 8,000 people through our year round events.

Labeling the festival, “Cannes on the Mississippi,” former Times-Picayune movie critic David Baron confirmed its importance as a permanent part of the City’s cultural landscape. Recent guests have included Helen Mirren and Taylor Hackford, John Waters, David Gordon Green, and Bob Berney.
