PACKAGES - New Orleans Mardi Gras 2006 Packages - Feb. 18-28, 2006

This is a special year for Mardi Gras in New Orleans. We owe it to our ancestors and our children to keep this cultural celebration alive. Krewe members, locals and visitors all need a reason to spread a little cheer, just as other generations did when Mardi Gras returned after the tragedies of world wars. This may be the most historic Mardi Gras ever and many will want to be a part of it.

Mardi Gras, French for Fat Tuesday, is the single-day culmination of the Carnival Season. Traditionally known as the "Greatest Free Party on Earth", the Mardi Gras Celebration includes parades, manned by costumed Revelers, that roll through the streets of New Orleans.

Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the period of abstinence before Easter, so Fat Tuesday is the last chance to enjoy a little decadence. That, of course, grew into a season of excess, which begins on February 18th and builds to a climax on Fat Tuesday, February 28th.
